Mike Larsen is an Emmy-nominated television writer, nationally-known comedian, and sought-after ghostwriter and communications strategist. He's been seen on HBO, Showtime, NBC, ABC, CMT, CW, Comedy Central, Funny or Die and made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Mike has written for some of the most popular television shows in America, including The Drew Carey Show, Ellen, Two Guys & a Girl, Grace Under Fire, Rodney, Reba, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Whoopi. He’s sold original comedy pilots to ABC, CBS, FOX and the BBC, and served as Executive Producer and show runner on the acclaimed Disney show, Crash & Bernstein. Mike received an Emmy Award nomination for his writing on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher.

In 2008, Mike took a sabbatical from his television career when he was recruited by newly elected Congresswoman Jackie Speier to run her Washington, DC communications operation. He oversaw the congresswoman's messaging, wrote speeches and editorials, and served as her spokesperson. Mike’s most rewarding experience, though, was working with survivors of military sexual assault to help them tell their stories in their own words.

Throughout his career, Mike has donated his time and skills to his community. He has served as a youth basketball coach, teaches his popular joke-writing workshop at schools and theaters, and mentors inmate writers at California's San Quentin State Prison. He was honored to be asked by the inmates to write the foreword to their 2018 anthology: Pens Up, Don't Shoot.

Mike was born in San Francisco, where he worked his way through school as a peanut vendor for San Francisco Giants and 49ers games. He now splits his time between Los Angeles and his ranch outside Columbus, Ohio.
